It's time to get to the chopper and make my day. It's the action movie fantasy draft coming up next on least important things. Welcome to a podcast called Least Important Things A Show About Movies, Friendship, and Finding Meaning in the Most Important of the Least Important Things. I'm your host, Luke Ferris. Yes, in today's episode, we are back and we are drafting to build our perfect action movie. Joining me today to build these action spectaculars are my lit henchman, Mike Wynne, Zach Hall, Andy Warson. Welcome back, gentlemen. Welcome to season five. It's good to have you here. Are you ready to action draft? Are the do the rules make sense? You're totally prepared. Zach, we'll start with you.
SPEAKER_01Um, my my uh entire plan was crushed in our pre-planning. So I am just gonna go in, just happy to be here, Luke. Just super happy to be here. Still can write the crap out of something at the end of this, I think no matter what happens.
SPEAKER_08I and I think it's symbolic of the Hollywood system, is like we're just gonna move forward with production without a script, and we'll figure it out as we go. Andy, um, what's your strategy going into this action draft? Um, I would say you probably have the physique of an action hero out of all of us. Um, I would say you are probably our action star. Um, I could I would say uh Mike is probably um the the fair counsel, maybe like uh he's like the mentor. Zach is probably the the the Q of the group. Feels like he he has all the technical skills that can support you on the mission. And I'm probably the the politician um in the background, taking a lot of meetings, um walking. Um but anyways, uh how are you approaching the strategy? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I I'm I'm really concentrated on the build of the hero and whether they're doing uh and and their their strength training and their exercise regimen as they prepare to become the action hero that is necessary in the film. So there's always those scenes in movies where you know Batman is becoming Batman and um Tom Cruise is climbing up poles upside down and you know things like that that I just want to make sure we we uh emphasize today with my draft. Yes.
SPEAKER_05Still waiting on that, by the way, Andy. Don't you owe receipts, receipts from Podcast Impossible?
SPEAKER_03Is that impossible? Don't have questions you don't want the answers to.
SPEAKER_08Yes. Um Mike, what's your thoughts, philosophies, um what's your pregame feelings go heading into this trade?
SPEAKER_05Based on my conversations with you guys via text, uh, it's increasingly clear uh how little prep I've done in comparison to you guys, and I'm 100% certain I don't understand the rules.
SPEAKER_08It sounds like the draft strategy of the early 2000s Detroit Lions. All right, let's get into the drafting. If you haven't joined us for a draft, we haven't done one, I think, in since the podcast impossible draft. I think that was the last one we did. It's been a minute. Um, essentially, here are the ground rules, just like a fantasy football draft or any kind of sports draft. We are drafting out of categories. We're picking actors, situations, things that you know in the action genre, and creating our own action movie out of that. So we're gonna draft and then we're gonna take a break and write our back of the VHS uh description of what our action movie is. So I join us, play along at home. We will have the categories listed in the episode notes and on Patreon. Uh, it's one you can play with the friends and family this fall as you're uh maybe on a road trip or maybe um in a pumpkin patch, uh just enjoying the fall season. SPEAKER_03No, Luke, I need to go to cell F8. It's down two over four.
SPEAKER_08See, you could tell I do not present spreadsheets just by be trying to talk about act like I present spreadsheets. I I'm not I'm I'm a I'm a slide deck man myself. I'm in the I'm in the business of slide decks, so this the spreadsheets are a bit clunky for me, so bear with me. Uh we have a fair number of categories, so I'll run them through them really quick. We have action hero, of course, the most important one. Here's the twist: like a mini-gray action movie. We have two tiers of action heroes, a tier one, and you can only draft one out of tier one. Uh the tier ones are Clint Eastwood, Bruce Lee, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sly Sallone, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Jackie Chan, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Denzel Washington, Liam Neeson, and Jason Statham. These are the the peak of the peak action stars. They've made many movies where they it's just them in a situation action movie equals big box office success.
SPEAKER_05Absolutely criminal that Denzel Washington is there in tier one when Keanu Reeves is down the list.
SPEAKER_08Okay, okay. Well, we'll take that into note. We did we did shift that. We did shift that we are we do love Kiana here, but we we are looking at the concept here that if you just put and I would say Denzel Washington is a new addition to this tier one. If you just put the name, the name on the poster is bigger than the name of the movie, that's when you know you're in it you're an action movie. And I think Denzel has come into this class. I think he was probably a tier two, now I think he is a tier one. Whereas Keanu, I think, is spread out a little bit. I think he's he's not like when he's making a movie nowadays, I don't think he's action star. I think in the 90s he was that. Uh I think he's opening up his foray. But if you want to learn more about Keanu Reeves, Zach and I spent a long time on a Keanu Reeves dedication episode a couple seats back. Um, and then we have a bunch of tier twos. Now, you guys can, if you want to do a tier two, you can select two. So it's a package value. So there's more value if you go tier two. Um, I'm not gonna read all the tier twos because uh we'll be here all night. Um, but think of everybody else on the list. You can take two from the action hero category. So that's an extra treat there. All right, we have allies. These are uh maybe fellow cops, these are uh friends, these are anybody that's helping our action hero along the journey. It could be a lover, it could be an estranged lover, it could be a random person that they meet in the woods. Anyone that could help them along their journey uh can be an ally. And there's so many here. Uh, I'll I'll try to I'll try to get through a fair amount of them. Number one, the most recent famously attractive person. This is just whoever's really really attractive and famous. That's just like you could throw that in there.
SPEAKER_09Jacob Alordi, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, Jacob Alordi, it could be whoever it is. Danny Trehale, Maggie Q, Sam Jackson, Zoe Zeldada, Lawrence Frishborn, Sandy Bulla, Carl Urban, Rachel Vise, John Luguzyamo, uh uh Hiruku Sonata, Michelle Rodriguez, Bing Rams, Renee Russo, Simon Pegg, Pel Big Cruz, Michael Pena, Halle Barry, Tyrese Gibson, Carrie Ann Moss, Ludacris, Danny Glover, Gal Godot, Sean Bean, Billy Zayd, Lance Reddick, Catherine Zeta Jones, Tom Berenger, Dolph Longgren. Now who is someone you could potentially put in a villain category, but we'll talk about that soon.
SPEAKER_09Um, Soma Hayek, Steve Zahn, uh uh Kerry uh Tagawa, uh Michelle Moran, Joe Pantilano, Judy Greer, Garrick Busey, Reginald Bell Johnson, Carlo Guino, Bill Pad, Mark Strong, Roasted Pike, Id McShay, Venicho Del Toro, JB Lee Curtis, Rob Peril Vid, Rebecca Ferguson.
SPEAKER_08Good ad there at the end. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01Good job, Luke. Good job. All right.
SPEAKER_08And next we have villain. Uh as I mentioned, every category can be flexed. We each get two flexes. So this is some this is something if we don't have a name on the list, we can bring them in. If in this instance, let's say uh, I don't know, you would want Billy Zane to be your villain. He could be also he could be an ally, and we also put him on the villain list, he is off the board. So we can't have two Billy Zanes. If Billy Zane is taken in these two categories, he's off.
SPEAKER_01So Bill Zane Billy, Billy Zane. Why is Billy Zane? He's just at the top of the list.
SPEAKER_08Villains, Billy Zane, Tom Berenger, Gary Oldman, Alan Rickman, Sean Bean, who's also on ally. Same thing. So Sean Bean is on both categories because he's he's an ally and a villain in multiple action movies or in the same movie. Um, Javier Bardem, John Travolta, Robert Patrick, Hugo Weaving, John Melkovich, Dennis Hopper, Dolph Runt Lungren again, uh, Willem Defoe, Christopher Lee, Mads Mickelson, Josh Brolin, Jason Isaacs, Tom Hardy, James Woods, William Sadler, Eric Roberts, and Mark Strong. And then we have henchmen. You gotta have a good henchman in an action movie. Uh the first is latest WWE or MMA star. You just, it's whoever is the latest WWE or MMA star. Dave Buttista, Frank Grillo, William Fitchner, uh, Al Leong, Michael Ironside, Kelly Who, Famka Johnson, Richard Keel, uh Yan Ruhan. Oh, geez, Conan Stevens, Jonathan Banks, Ronnie Cox, Kurt Ward Smith, JT Walsh Walsh, Billy Dirago, Grace Jones, Vinny Jones, Chai McBride, Scott Conn, Billy Zayn as also an edge fid. Uh okay, this is the fun ones. Action cliche. I love action movies, and there's formulas to action movies, and there's so many cliches that just happen in action movies that are across the board. Revenge on family getting killed or kidnapped, just consistent through the genre. Framed for a crime they didn't commit, betrayed by their country or organization, the ally ends uh ends up betraying them, men on a mission, that's just general men on a mission or women on a mission, one last job, going rogue, which is about seven mission possible movies, assembling the old crew, hostage or mguffin holdup, and the odd couple. So these are action cliches that will help dictate your plot of the movie because they're they're all an action genre. Director, a lot of great action directors. Uh, this is one that many people will flex, but I don't know why you wouldn't want to choose John Mu, Christopher McCorry, Michael Bay, George Miller, the Wachowskis, John McTiernan, Tony Scott, Sam Peckinpaw, Paul Verhoefen, Catherine Bigelow, William Freakin. Uh is he on their twice? No. Uh Chad Stahelski and David Leach, Gareth Evans, Justin Lynn, Don Siegel, Chang Che, Martin Campbell, and Paul Greengrass. Good ad there. I don't know who added that one. Um, location. Oh, Mike did. Location. Okay, action movies are great because a lot of times they go all over the world. And sometimes it's about one small confined space. Three European cities of your choice. So just pick whatever cities you want to be, but Europe specific. Three international cities of your choice. So that could be Europe, that could be uh the United States, that could be anywhere in the world, Asia, it doesn't matter. New York, LA, DC, nondescript enemy territory. Think Top Gun. They didn't really say that it was in the Soviet Union, it's just the enemy. Jungle, mountains, an office building, a significant military or government building, a moving vehicle, space going to, at, or from underwater or on water, and New England. New England. Not old England, New England. New England.
SPEAKER_01New England.
SPEAKER_08Oh boy.
SPEAKER_01That's not the newest England, though.
SPEAKER_08Our friends in Boston might are gonna be coming after us after this one. Uh, special set of skills is the final category. These are the skills that give your action hero a personality that makes them iconic. One hit kill. This could either be a punch or a karate chop. Bulletproof cover, unlimited anumission. I could any could be any kind of ammo. It could be arrows, it could be whatever you want it to be. Uh, perfect headshot, enemies attacking at one time. This is when your hero is in the middle of a circle and the enemies just go one at a time instead of all jumping on them. Can see things before they happen in slow-mo. This is uh this is you can kind of have creative liberties with this, but this is essentially there's a slow-mo shot where they they know what's going to happen beforehand. Drive any vehicle, any vehicle doesn't matter. Uh, James Bond is a franchise that's well known for this. Disappear behind objects, aka time jumping. Um, the board franchise. This actually does make me want to watch um the the latest naked gun. It's like I feel like it is a good pairing after you do the draft episode here. Go watch the latest naked gun. They address many of these. Running full speed across an insane distances, aka the Tom Cruise um special set of skills, improv problem solving, aka McGyver skills. Basically, in any situation, be able to get out of what they want. Endless contacts in the underworld and dubs.
SPEAKER_01No, I took it off. If you know, you know. Can we have dubs or should we have dubs? I guess we should have doves. Okay.
SPEAKER_08If you know, you know. You know. All right, those are the categories, gentlemen. Um, any questions? Any final complaints? Um, something that you would like to bring up with the commissioner, who is I um that you disagree with. Who goes first?
SPEAKER_03What's on second?
SPEAKER_08Who's on first? Um, uh how do you guys want to decide who's on first? I forgot my uh 12-sided die. Zach, do you have a 12-sided die near you?
SPEAKER_01Uh I have to run into the background and come back.
SPEAKER_08Okay, Zach's gonna get a 12-sided die to determine the order, and we'll be vamping here. But there's four of us. Yes, I know.
SPEAKER_01It's more I mean they're they make a d4, Luke. Like that is possible.
SPEAKER_08Okay, we can do a D4, whatever die you have.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, this is what a D4 looks like. Okay. A triangle.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so I guess I might be a number.

SPEAKER_08So this is who's going first.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, let me see if I can get this. Yeah, we're gonna put this on right in front for the. I'm inclined to trust you, by the way. This is where we're gonna roll it.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, this is good. He'll complain less. If I did this, it would be a lot of complaints. Alright, ladies and gentlemen, Zach is rolling the D4. Drum. The D D D4 die.
SPEAKER_01Here it goes. One for first place. Three. One. Who is number one?
SPEAKER_08One is Mike. Wow.
SPEAKER_01Okay, now I gotta figure out what I'm gonna do. And then do we keep rolling just to get the order, continue with order?
SPEAKER_08Yeah. And this is a snake draft for people who that was a one as well.
SPEAKER_01That's a three.
SPEAKER_08Oh, Luke. In the two position.
SPEAKER_01I would love to draft last because this is a snake draft, right?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, this is a snake draft.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, number four, number four is neck, our third pick.
SPEAKER_02It's me. Alright, so you are last.
SPEAKER_08So Zach Zach is fourth. Okay, so if you don't know what a snake draft is, Mike will draft first, then myself, who is Luke, Andy, and then Zach will pick two drafts, and then it will go back to Andy. So that is a snake draft. Okay. Um, Mike, you are on the clock.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. So I won't do that every time. I think I think the right move is to pick a hero, right? To kind of base this on.
SPEAKER_08It depends on how you want to play. Some some people might think their villain is more important, or the action cliche, or the director, or the location.
SPEAKER_05Okay, well, I'm gonna go, I'm gonna pick hero first. Um, and I am going to not pick a tier one hero, which means I I'm actually gonna take two tier two heroes, and I'm gonna go uh the law firm known as uh Aflac and Damon. Oh wow.
SPEAKER_08The boys are back. They just made a movie together, an action movie together. Uh the it was not the cut, the uh the rip. It was actually like a great, great dad, great dad action movie. Uh I I enjoyed it.
SPEAKER_01Is there gonna be a comeback of famous lines from possible of movies of past that they've both been into?
SPEAKER_08Ooh, how do you like them, Apples?
SPEAKER_05I don't know. I uh honestly I just need some star power, and those guys have on-screen chemistry.
SPEAKER_08So all right, Damon and Affleck. I can I can spell.
SPEAKER_05I think I've I'm I'm I'm actually closer at this point in the draft to making a Duncan commercial than I am an action movie.
SPEAKER_08Alright, uh I'm on the clock. I'm also gonna do action hero. Um I am going to do this is I haven't thought about this. I've just been thinking about uh defending my picks, not actually my strategy. I'm going to do a tier two, and I am going to do Patrick Swayze and Kurt Russell.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, super old school. What? Is this late 80s?
SPEAKER_03That I mean their hair combination is gonna win you the draft by itself.
SPEAKER_08It's gonna be something we're gonna need a lot of hairspray. Uh for for context, when we build our stories, you can dictate the era of the actor. So you could so Mike can take 90s Affleck and Damon, or you could take like modern day. So you have that creative flexibility. All right, 80s on the clock.
SPEAKER_03I'm on the clock. So I think I'm gonna swerve from the action heroes on this one because there are other categories that I I must make sure on my way for my the the way that it's forming in my brain. I need to make sure uh that some categories are dealt with first before others. Um and so the for me, I have to go straight to the villain. You have to put me in the villain category, and uh and Tom Hardy. Welcome to the squad. Okay, I love this.
SPEAKER_01I love this.
SPEAKER_09Some of the border daughters love him.
SPEAKER_08I think that's a good call. I I regret there's so many great action heroes that I kind of regret not going after a more story. It just it just spoke to me. I went I went pure emotion, um, didn't think about it. Like much like many action movie that you don't want to think about the plot too much. All right, Zach with two picks.
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah, so for my first book, I'm actually gonna go hard and I'm gonna establish the visual style of this movie first and foremost. And um, so guys, I'm sorry, but I need to go old school with this. I I choose John. Oh no, no, no. Oh my gosh, that was your next tip.
SPEAKER_08I'm so sorry. And this is John McTiernan and what I'm really sorry, Andy.
SPEAKER_01I I really thought this would go later rounds, or like I thought you were going to a different world. Tom Hardy. Ooh, okay.
SPEAKER_03I am okay. All right, I'm gonna have to recover.
SPEAKER_04Who who is that?
SPEAKER_03Uh directed.
SPEAKER_08Here we go. Here's the list. You want to know the list? Die Hard Predator, the hunt for red october. Die Hard with a Vengeance, The Last Action Hero, Thomas Crown Affair, the 99 version, the 13th warrior, don't sleep on it. I mean, just an absolute legend of the genre.
SPEAKER_01And rollerball. Oh, rollerball.
SPEAKER_03Really, really well done.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Yeah. Okay. Sorry. I hope you can find something that is close, though. I think there's it. I mean, so many directors after him emulate his style. So I think you still might be able to do something. For my second pick, I am actually going to pick a henchman. Ooh. And my henchman is Billy Zane. Billy Zane, he's off the board. He's off the board, ladies and gentlemen. Wipes him from multiple classes.
SPEAKER_08We did not think, you know, when they were when ESB ESBN was doing their eight hours of coverage before the draft, uh, they did not expect Billy Zane to go.
SPEAKER_01A second round pick, Billy Zane. See, justifiably did a really good job in Scorpion King. One of my favorite moves is the Phantom. Um, these are these are the reasons. This is the reasoning. That's that's my pick.
SPEAKER_08A John McTiernan and Billy Zane. All right, Andy.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Um, you know, this this next one, when I when I saw the list, it the the actor immediately stuck out as a must-have, regardless of the way wherever this movie goes. But when I think of henchmen, there's only one person that comes immediately to mind, and his name is Vinny Jones. And I I must have the soccer fanatic, the crazy soccer psycho on my squad as the henchman in this movie. Dope. Teaming up with Tom Hardy. What a combo.
SPEAKER_08Wow. I uh there's like there's like some like uh East London action movie coming out. Like I I'm seeing like a London-based action movie here. That could be really good. Maybe like a hooligan 90s soccer hooligan action coming together, man. It's coming together. Something special. Something special is is cooking. All right. Uh I am up and I am thinking about who I need in this movie, who's gonna help me uh carry this on.
SPEAKER_07I'm gonna go ally. And oh is it is this crazy? No, I can't do that. I can't do this. Can I do it? Yes, it might be too much. Your pick. It might be too much. Give it to us, pitch it to us.
SPEAKER_09Uh this is Gary Busey. I'm doing Gary Busey. Oh yeah! I'm doing it.
SPEAKER_01I can't wait. Russell, Swayze, and Bucey. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_08I don't know. There's a lot of testosterone going in here. I don't know how it's gonna work, but uh it's it's it's happening.
SPEAKER_01You have the what stage of Bucy it is.
SPEAKER_03Your your team right now is uh the king of last names. You just need to listed last names and it's Russell.
SPEAKER_08Okay, as a reminder, you get there there's a couple categories. I forgot to say this. You get two henchmen, two action cliches, and two allies and two special set of skills.
SPEAKER_05Do you have to take two of those?
SPEAKER_08You do have to take two of those.
SPEAKER_05Oh okay. All right. Um if I had known that, I wouldn't have gone Damon and Affleck.
SPEAKER_08Well, though they're yeah. Well, we added uh Affleck to Action Hero. And you can so you're you're done with Action Hero.
SPEAKER_05But yeah, I know that. Um stop complaining, you got the first draft pick. Okay, um, okay, okay, okay, okay. Um, okay. I don't really know what else I want to do with this. So I I think I'm gonna like go with like a cliche so that I can kind of like like create like an ethos around it. So I'm gonna go cliche and I'm gonna choose going rogue. Okay. Going rogue. Um oh I go I pick back to back here. Um you get two.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Okay. Um and okay. I feel like I feel like I need to pick um location. And with Damon and Af like it's gotta be New England.
SPEAKER_09So I see. Interesting, interesting how New England randomly showed up as a location.
SPEAKER_03It would have been though he could had we taken that.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I should have taken it just right away. It's interesting because he could have gotten uh you three uh international cities and he could have just done Boston and then just added two, but no, he's he wants it regionally specific to New England. Um, interesting. Okay. Um, I think it's really important to have a uh great uh female character in an action movie, and I can't think of another great female action movie character. Um Sandy Bullock is is also in my film. So I'm going with my talent hard at the start.
SPEAKER_03That is not where I thought you were gonna go with that pick. Oh, I'm up. Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry.
SPEAKER_08All right, he was worried, he was worried Rebecca's Rebecca Ferguson was gonna be God. He was like, oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no, no, no. I need to lock down my location. Um because you guys have already noticed the trend that's forming, and I need to ensure that said location combination is not taken from me, um, much like my director John McTiernan was on just the last round. So my my location is going to be the three European cities of choice. There are two obvious ones. Um, number one, have to have London because of said said said previous choices as a logical pick. Um the other obvious one is Budapest, uh, because nothing good ever happens in Budapest. So in an action movie, one must have Budapest. Um that happens there. And the third one, just because uh maybe we'll see how this this elaborates later with where my mind is going. But Rome, Rome is gonna be on there uh for the third.
SPEAKER_08So Andy, I feel like you're you're where you're headed is actually like that was probably the other option for me. Like I had two extremes, and I think you're like creating the other movie I wanted to see. So thank you for doing this for me.
SPEAKER_03I'm really excited for the way this is gonna turn out. They might actually make it. I don't know.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Hollywood, we're ready. Come on. Uh Zach, you have two picks.

SPEAKER_08So I got I'm confused. I don't know how you're gonna make a movie out of this, but Pete.
SPEAKER_05As my hero, uh, I've got Damon and Affleck duo, uh cliche of Going Rogue in New England with special skills of a one-hit kill punch and improv problem solving slash McGyver skills. Um, I've got a villain uh played by Stellin Skarsgard, and a henchman uh of Robin Williams and another henchman of um Kohlhauser. Um I've got uh Allies of uh Minnie Driver and Casey Affleck, um, and another cliche of getting the girl, and this is uh this movie is directed by Gus Fenzon. Okay.
SPEAKER_08All right, give us your back at the VHS. Okay, or DVD.
SPEAKER_05Matt Damon is a ghost. By day, he works at the Kessler Institute, a black sight research facility buried beneath Boston Harbor, hiding in plain sight. And by night, he and his partner Ben Affleck run South Boston's underground fight circuit, settling scores with their fists. When Matt Damon cracks an unsolvable cipher scrawled across the hallway wall, he trips Oh my gosh, you guys. I get it now.
SPEAKER_09You get it? You get it? It sounds familiar. I made goodwill hunting.
SPEAKER_04No, no way.
SPEAKER_08I can't believe it. I can't believe you didn't see that.
SPEAKER_04Guys, I should have known the title of my movie is The Hunt for Goodwill. All right, let me just finish it. Let me just how about you finish it?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, okay. See how close you are.
SPEAKER_05Stellan Skarsgard, the institute's cold calculating director, wants the man who solved it. When he discovers the sheer power of Matt Damon's mind, he sees the alternate weapon and he intends to own it. So good. Before Damon can vanish, he's caught mid-brawl, having taken down half a police squad, and Skarsgard offers a deal. Serve under his command or rot in maximum security cell.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_05To break him, Skarsgard unleashes his private army of therapists. One by one, Damon dismantles them, leaving a trail of broken furniture and shattered egos. Out of options, Skarsgard sends in his chief enforcer, Robin Williams, the Scar's veteran, with nothing left to lose. He can't be intimidated, bought, or outmaneuvered. The two clash again and again, intense, week-long standoffs, each one waiting for the other to blink. Then slowly something shifts. Damon sees the man behind the scars, and Robin sees the weapon uh he's been ordered to forge. Meanwhile, Damon crosses paths with Mini Driver, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, you know that part. As Scarsguard closes grip, dragging Matt Damon toward a life of weaponized genius he never chose. Everything comes to a head. Williams corners him and says four words. It's not your fault. Damon finally breaks and the walls come down for good. Robin Williams turns on his master in an explosive finale. Williams tears open the Institute's defenses and covers Matt Damon's escape. Skarsgard's empire collapses around him, his own fortress brought down by the weapon he tried to steal. Matt Damon takes one last ride with Ben Affleck and roars west down the highway toward California, chasing many driver, and the only thing that's worth fighting for.
SPEAKER_08That is the hunt for goodwill. Incredible. One of my favorites. Um, soon to be favorites. Sorry, doesn't exist yet.

SPEAKER_08All right. All right. So mine, I have my uh action heroes as Patrick Swayze and Kurt Russell. I have my allies as Gary Busey and Sandy Bullock, my villain is Willem Defoe. My uh these are my uh special set of skills, endless contacts in the underworld, and drive any vehicle, location LA. Um, and my action cliche is odd couple and betrayed by their country organization, my henchmen are Michael Ironside in Flexton Bill Pullman. Uh, and then is directed by William Freakin. And here's the back of the VHS. One day changes everything. Hotshot detective, Lieutenant Marshall, played by Patrick Swayze, doesn't play nice with others. But when the Los Angeles mayor goes missing, played by Bill Pullman, the chief of police, Michael Ironside, insists that he teams up with a federal agent and brother of the mayor, Special Agent Connors, played by Kurt Russell. Connor's play-by-the-book approach rubs against Marshall's run-and-gun attitude as the pair trace the steps of the mayor through the CD LA underworld and questionable informant, Gary Busey, to the country clubs of Beverly Hills, where the mayor's daughter, Sandra Bullock, is a girl next door, but that her demeanor isn't the full story. The tension builds as the day heats up, and a political activist played by Willem Willem Dafoe becomes target number one for the unlikely duo. But as Connor's too close to the case to see it objectively, is Marshall's raw attraction to the mayor's daughter and questionable tactics destroy the investigation? And as the day turns into the night, will secrets of the past catch up with the pain of the present? Unwind the threads in this pulsing hot star-studded action thriller directed by the man who brought you the French connection. It's one day in LA.

SPEAKER_08One day in LA. Wow. Uh I did I I don't have drive any vehicle. That was the one thing I missed. So that they're gonna be driving a bunch of different vehicles in that scenario. I couldn't sneak there in.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the audience could imagine.
SPEAKER_08So I don't know if you guys caught the plot, but there's there's there's some betrayal. The betrayal, but uh betrayed by his country or organization, that is uh the the police force is involved with this uh with a big cover up. Um and then Willem Dafoe, he's like a political a activist and against the mayor. Um but he ends up not being responsible. Um the like it it's the police force that is uh and and specifically the chief of police that's. Is really pulling the strings. So that's how I included that, but you don't really get them in the back of the DHS. Alright, Andy.
SPEAKER_03Alright. We have my two heroes, Alan Rickson, and Chris Hemsworth, teaming up with their two allies, Florence Hugh and Gail Godot. Fighting against the villain of Tom Harvey, who's accompanied by two henchmen in the name of Benny Jones and Dave Bautista. With the cliches that they are men on a mission and they are getting revenge for a family or friend, directed by George Miller. And we're going to be in a couple cities in Europe. So I'm not as good with the words as maybe some folks here are on this call, so bear with me. But when the father of two brothers, adopted, is brutally murdered in cold blood, two massively muscular former Navy SEALs set off on a deadly mission with only two rules, revenge the death of their father, and kill everyone in their path. With no regard for laws or legality, the brothers hunt down their target, leaving them to literally run across Europe's most famous cities and landmarks, demolishing anyone and anything in their way. Joined by their past flames, their forgotten romances, codenamed Florence and Gale, along with an endless supply of ammunition. Can our heroes survive the onslaught of masculine muscled men in their way? George Miller directs the most muscle-filled Hayok tame film of the year. Gladiator meets the 21st century, and nothing good happens in Budapest. You don't want to miss that. Bulldog and Thunder in theaters now.

Um, but to just I don't have all of my characters in this, so I just will highlight it really quick. This is gonna take place on a moving vehicle. That's my location. Yeah, um, it's gonna be directed by John McTiernan, he's my director. Um, it's gonna star Keanu Reeves in Charlie's Theron. Um, Gary Ollman is our villain, the two um henchmen. We have Billy Zane and Fam King Jensen Jensen, and then um I know Will Patton and Reginald Vale Johnson are also our allies in this film. I have to make sure that uh the ally ends up betraying them, an ally ends up betraying them at the end, and then um that uh there's also a hostage situation or some type of holdup. Um and they can emerge from Shadows and Cracknecks. Um disappear behind objects AK time jumping, which I actually want to pitch to you guys a second after I read this uh back in the VHS description. Um recent retire recently retired LAPD bomb squad sergeant Jack Tavern. Oh thought he'd finally left danger behind. He was wrong. Jack and his wife Kate, played by Charlize Theron, are living the dream, cruising Route 66 in their high-tech glamping van, taking in America one roadside attraction at a time. But when Kate gets a call from a long-lost friend played by Billy Zane, their vacation takes a deadly detour. A Shadow from Kate's past, played by Gary Ullman, is taking their family vacation hostage. And now they're trapped in a nightmare on the mother road. They can't leave Route 66, they can't slow below 66 miles per hour. And if they stop, they're dead. One road, one speed, no way out. This is speed three off-road.
SPEAKER_09Yes, the dream.
SPEAKER_01This needs to happen. The Hollywood reporter said, Yeah, the Hollywood reporter said, Don't even think about taking the next exit. Yes. Um video hits, don't know that publication, but says 60 uh 66 miles per hour never felt so fast. And um also Blockbuster Video came back from the dead and said uh a white knuckle ride from start to finish. Yeah, so those are all things.
SPEAKER_08Wow, those are good endorsements.
SPEAKER_01I think Reginald will probably be uh a driver on the road who will assist in Subway for at least a third of the movie, then come back heroically at the end. I think it's actually gonna be like Will Patton is Gary Oldman in some way. I think that's what we're gonna end up doing there. Um it's Billy or sorry, Will Patton is Billy Zane, like it's Billy Zane's voice or something like that. Okay. Um Patton is actually the ally that becomes the actual. Ooh, I like that.
SPEAKER_08I like the the Billy Zane voice, and Will Patton is actually the the one betraying them. Wow.
SPEAKER_01And they they will get off the RV guys, but uh so there will be net cracking somehow. Um, I think the big thing is Charlie's is like an X FBI, uh X FBI or X maybe KGB or something like that. Something something more deep cover. Um, so it's a surprise to Keanu. And I want to ask, can the RV disappear behind objects?
SPEAKER_08Yes, yes. That that is a lot.
SPEAKER_01Can we do that? Can we time jump the RV?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, we can time jump the RV. I love it for RV.
SPEAKER_01That is that is my speed. Uh, it's it's been years in the making, but finally I'm ready for it.
